This Cincinnati Enquirer story shows that the number of robberies at gun point has soared to nearly 111 in the first four months of 2002. Compared to previous years, this is a 94.7% increase.

One has to ask themselves, could it be the significant publicity in our landmark lawsuits which allowed every law abiding citizen to carry a firearm for self-defense for almost two full weeks? When the Ohio Supreme Court decided to issue an emergency stay (two weeks after it was requested) police were yet again permitted to arrest anyone carrying a concealed firearm in Hamilton County. With that news being broadcast in almost every news report and radio talk show, and likely front page news in most newspaper boxes, maybe the criminal element has been reminded that otherwise law abiding citizens are disarmed.
