Supposedly a 14 year old Dayton area boy shot at a woman in a parking lot (sound familiar?) and then stole her car from her. The anti-gun side might play this off as "kids and their access to guns", but the real burning question is: why can't this woman have access to a firearm for self-defense in Ohio? DAYTON, Ohio (AP) -- A 14-year-old boy was taken into custody Tuesday after a woman was shot and wounded in a carjacking and the suspect led police on a chase at speeds of mpre than 90 mph, police said. Police Lt. John Barnes said the carjacking occurred in the parking lot of a shopping center on the city's east side. The woman was shot in the abdomen and hand as she was walking to her parked sport utility vehicle, Barnes said. Police later spotted the vehicle and chased it. The suspect was caught after the car struck a police cruiser in suburban Moraine. Barnes said officers found a gun and a knife in the vehicle. He said the suspect was being questioned by police. No charges had yet been filed. Barnes said that the woman was undergoing surgery and that her injuries did not appear to be life-threatening. |
