The Senate Judicial Committee on Civil Justice has scheduled hearings on December 3rd, 4th and 5th with House Bill 274 being the only item on the agenda at this time.
The hearing agenda is as follows: Tues., Dec. 3, 10:00 a.m. - Senate Hearing Room 110 Tues., Dec. 3, 2:00 p.m. or post-session (time permitting) - Senate Hearing Room 110 - Invited proponent testimony only Wed., Dec. 4, 11:00 a.m. - North Hearing Room - Proponent & Opponent testimony Thurs., Dec. 5, 9:00 a.m. - South Hearing Room - Consideration of amendments, possible vote out of committee. IF YOU CAN ATTEND ONE OR MORE OF THESE HEARINGS, PLEASE WEAR YOUR OFCC SHIRTS, SHOW UP EARLY, AND BRING FRIENDS. Testimony is optional but highly encouraged.Call Governor Bob Taft at 614-466-3555 and tell his office that you insist that he allow HB274 to pass without gun control or threat of a veto, even if it means he doesn't sign the bill and lets it become law. If you wish to contact your Senator, you can do so right here -- be sure to send the letter AND call your Senator's office. The name and number of every Senator on the committee is listed in the "Read More" section of this post. What to say when you call: We need to defeat the anti-gun amendments supposedly being inserted into HB274. Ask your Senator to offer or support efforts to pass HB274 on the Senate floor "as it was passed out of the Ohio House, without added gun control measures." When you call the committee members before Tuesday tell them to defeat the FOP's anti-gun efforts. (click read more for more telephone numbers) Members of the Senate Judicial Committee On Civil Justice (and the Senate President). Call NOW!
